Presentation:  The Role of the Retirement Plan Advisor

Description:  In this presentation, we will explore the critical role of the Retirement Plan Advisor in today’s defined contribution plan landscape.  We will discuss how these specialists guide individuals and organizations through the complexities of managing a retirement plan, ensuring that clients make informed decisions with the various aspects of their plan.  Key areas that will be discussed are ERISA Compliance, Plan Governance, Fee Benchmarking, Investment Analysis, QDIA/TDF Suitability, Plan Design, Financial Wellness, and Fiduciary Education.

Bio:

Christopher DeAndrea is the Director of Retirement Plan Consulting at Webber Advisors. He focuses on delivering results-oriented retirement plan strategies to clients that aim to allow: 1) their employees an opportunity to create a sustainable income in retirement; and 2) the employer to operate their plan efficiently.

With more than twelve years of experience in the financial services industry, Christopher has held various positions within PNC Operations and PNC Investments.  Most recently Christopher was a Retirement Plan Consultant at an independent, family-owned firm specializing in retirement plan advisory, wealth management services, employee benefits and commercial insurance consulting in the Pittsburgh area.

 

Presentation: Leveraging Compensation to Attract and Retain Talent

Description: Despite the shifts that have reshaped the landscape of talent acquisition in recent years, one constant remains the same: organizations continue to report difficulty in attracting and retaining top talent. With continued inflation and worker expectations evolving, it is important for organizations to consider taking a proactive approach to compensation to not only attract but also engage and retain the best workforce. This session will explore employer challenges, best practices, and market forecasts to gain a better understanding of how to leverage compensation as part of the talent acquisition strategy.

Trisha K. Shearer directs the Human Resources Compliance and Consulting Division at Webber Advisors. She is passionate about helping other HR professionals and business owners meet today’s workforce challenges. Trisha understands and recognizes the unique qualities of every organization from their mission and vision to their culture and workforce.

Trisha has over 27 years of experience in Human Resources. She began her career in the community banking industry where she held various HR positions. Most recently, Trisha was promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources prior to joining Webber Advisors as Vice President of HR Compliance and Consulting. Trisha graduated from Bucknell University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Presentation: Employee Benefits: Roadmap to Success

Description:

This presentation will provide an in-depth exploration of key considerations for evaluating various types of funding, plans, carriers, and brokers in the context of employee benefits. Participants will gain insights into critical factors such as company size, financial security/cash flow, administrative support, claims history, workforce demographics, risk tolerance, and compliance requirements. Additionally, this presentation will emphasize the importance of understanding trends, best practices and key performance indicators (KPIs) and their impact on benefits, including recruitment and retention, cost containment, value perception, employee education, benefits technology, and overall employee engagement.

Kathryne Kelly leads Webber Advisors Employee Benefits team. With a strong focus on creating effective solutions, she strives to help clients save time, money, and reduce stress by implementing strategies that enhance accountability and cohesion across teams.

Her expertise in problem-solving and dedication to client service consistently exceeds client expectations. She is deeply committed to helping her clients fight back against the broken health insurance system; ensuring her clients maximize their healthcare benefits and spend through strategic innovation and employee education.

Her capabilities are not limited by industry type, to business size or insurance funding segment. She has extensive experience in both fully and self-insured models as well as the implementation of ground-breaking strategies that help remove utilization from group claims. She prides herself in making the difficult to hear and understand, digestible.

She's held her Health and Life Insurance License for 8 years and is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. She believes in servant leadership and gives back to her community by co-chairing Family Services Inc.’s Purple Purse Fundraising Committee, where she’s helped raise nearly $150,000 for Blair County victims of domestic abuse. She is actively involved with the Altoona Rotary Club and is an Alumni of Leadership Blair County through the Chamber of Commerce.
